The growth of concern about the potential damage to the well-being of young people sparked an idea for Dr Kate Coleman.

Kate is a Consultant Ophthalmologist whose career has taken her around the world. She has developed an AI-based software for the early identification of glaucoma, a disease that can be treated if caught, but can cause blindness if not. SightTrack uses retina cameras to baseline the condition of the eye.

It was this that led Kate to age identification. The retina can be used to set the age of a person that can then be used to enable or deny permissions established by governments.

Working with Jason and Hector, the team has built the software to enable retina cameras on the High Street to be used to confirm ages for social media use.
